• Di Furia, L. and the Stammi Bene Group (2011) is organizing a public conference in May 2011 to present the actions within the ReDNet project, the first results, and to talk about the smart drugs as a new phenomenon. The conference will be part of the "I‐MOD Vision", which is a multimedia festival organized by the Academy of Arts (Accademia di Belle Arti) of Maceratan (I).

• Scherbaum, N. (2011‐2012) was invited by the Thieme publishing company to write the “Drogentaschenbuch” (Book on Drugs), which informs not only about widely used drugs such as cannabis and heroin, but also about several unusual drugs such as PCP, salvia divinorum, ketamine etc. More than the half of all chapters are written, the book should be published at the end of 2011/beginning of 2012. Target groups of the book are clinicians, but also other other professionals.

• Scherbaum, N. (2011) abstracts on the PSYCHONAUT and ReDNeT projects will be submitted for major psychiatric/addiction medicine meetings in Germany such as in Munich (7/2011), Frankfurt (9/2011) and Berlin (11/2011).

• Shapiro, H (20011) published the book ‘The Media Guide to Drugs’. Key facts and figures for journalists. DrugScope: 2011.

Strategic advisory services

• Prof. Schifano was nominated Member of the Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs, Home Office (UK).

• Prof. Scherbaum in 2010 was elected as member of Advisory Board on Drugs at the Federal Ministry of Health, Germany. At his first attendance Prof. Scherbaum informed the other members on ongoing projects such as ReDNeT. Main topics at the meetings of this board are the evaluation and legal classification of new drugs. The Federal Goverment´s Commissioner on Drug‐related Issues was informed about the project by Prof. Scherbaum (Germany).

• Prof Drummond is a member of the UK Independent Scientific Committee on Drugs • Dr Deluca was invited, as expert member, to contribute to the Demos and UK Drug

Policy Commission report on legal highs – Taking Drugs seriously (April 2011)
