Office Hours: Shall be announced separately Credits: 1 Semester: Fall 2011-12

    Course Description:

This is a core course for Electrical Engineering students. The scope of this course

covers five different modules that are designed to make the students familiar with

different mechanical and electrical modeling softwares along with carefully compiledassignments and home works to further enhance their practical skills. In addition to this,

the subject also consists of modules of machining, electric wiring and smart panels design

that reflect good aesthetic sense. CoCreate modeling software and ExpressPCB will be

used for making mechanical models and electronic layouts respectively that would helpthe students design and build their own projects. There is an added element of visual

perspective analysis, to teach the students to deal with 2D and 3D elements in CAD.

Furthermore, a small portion of Introduction to Robotics is added to familiarize thestudents with the basis for Mechanical and Robotics assembly.

    Course Status:

Core course for Electrical Engineering major

Elective course for other undergraduate students

    Pre-requisites:

    None

    Suggested Text Books:

Lecture slides and Relevant material shall be provided in the form of

    handouts when needed.

    Grading Scheme:

This is a PASS / FAIL course PASS grade on obtaining 67% marks overall Each module carries some weight as noted along side. Quizzes are held in Drawing and modeling. 8-tasks weight is 80% overall 3-quizzes weight is 20% overall

Lectures and Examinations:Weekly lab sessions of 100 minutes duration.
