    Concept Statement-----

    Mrs. Lily Thomas is the owner of a third-floor apartment located in KeyWest, Florida. She is recently retired and has moved to Key West to benear her children and grandchildren. The unit is approximately 1900square feet and contains no existing interior walls. Attention will bebrought to the views from the windows that overlook the beach. Theapartment will be separated into the following spaces: a kitchen, dining

    area, living area, craft room, master bedroom, guest bedroom, andbathroom. Upon entering the space, one will have a sense of opennessdue to the open floor plan to be used for the kitchen, dining, and livingareas. ADA compliant appliances that are also energy efficient, watersaving plumbing fixtures, ADA compliant faucets, non-slip flooring, andgrab bars will be incorporated into the design to ensure that the spacewill be as green and safe as possible for Lily for the present and future.Minimalistic furniture with clean lines along with Chinese cultural itemsand dcor will fill the space. A blend of muted colors, such as pastel pink,light green, and light gray, mixed with various textured textiles will createa soft, inviting space.
