But if you have separated from your childrens mother orfather and are planning to take the kids abroad for a well-deserved break, there are some legal obligations that you mayneed to consider.

To be able to take your children out of the country, you musthave consent from everyone who has parental responsibility, ora court order which allows you to do so. Court orders can takesome time to obtain, so if you have already booked a holiday,dont wait any longer to get the necessary documents in place.

If the other parent does not agree with your plans, you maybe able to apply to the courts for a Specific Issue Order which,if granted, would give you permission to take the children outof England and Wales.

In most circumstances, the courts will generally feel that it isin the best interests of the children to be able to enjoy aholiday with one parent. This is assuming that there are noconcerns for the childrens safety, and provided that there areno concerns that the children will not be returned at the end ofyour break. These issues can make matters more complex andtake longer to deal with.

In any event, we would strongly suggest that you do not bookany holidays until the arrangements have been agreed or acourt order is in place. If the order is not made in time, you may

miss your holiday.As well as offering

advice regardingtaking children onholiday, we can adviseon all child-relatedlegal issues. Thisincludes ChildArrangements orders(formerly known ascontact orders and residence orders) which state who thechildren should live with and how much time they should spendwith each parent on a weekly basis, through to specific issues.

Sheffield Cable Waterski is the norths biggest cable wakepark, where you can enjoy exhilarating sports such askneeboarding, waterskiing and wakeboarding. The cablepark caters for everyone from beginner to advanced level andplays host to professional wakeboarders, a kids club andeveryone in-between.

The cable park is based at Rother Valley Country Park andwith summer upon us, owner Andrew Granger and the teamare preparing for a busy few months and some exciting eventsand competitions for all ages and abilities.

This year the site has invested in three new obstacles, anElephant Rail, a Butterbox and Handrail, elevating the parksstatus to one of the best in the country. The crossover fromsnowboarding and skateboarding to wakeboarding is a clearone for riders.

To coincide with the school holidays, the cable park now haseven more to offer young riders. Sheffield Cable Waterski isopen from April to October and the Junior Riders Club takesplace every Saturday morning 9am-11am. The club caters forchildren aged eight to 12 years.

The Junior Riders Club costs 20 for two hours, which coversall the instruction and equipment. It is the perfect way to keepyour kids entertained and active over the summer holidays andthis year, there will be additional sessions for young riders,which will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays 10am-12pm.

The majority of junior riders go on to compete in nationalcompetitions as they grow in confidence and skill. Local riderCallum Boyd joined the Junior Riders Club when he was 12

years old and was placedthird in last months TenFeet High Series in theintermediate category,the wake parks monthlywakeboardingcompetition.

The cable parks TenFeet High Series issponsored by ONeillWetsuits, Rockerline,Boardwraps, StaySeasonal and Ten FeetHigh, the parks proshop. Professional andamateur riders arejudged on their style,tricks and freestylearound the lake and on the wake parks ten exciting obstacles,which include kickers and sliders.

There are five categories in the competition with a bronze,silver and gold medallist in each. The categories includeprofessional, intermediate and rookies, which are split into threeage groups, including a category for eight to 12-year-olds. Thenext competitions will take place on Saturday 11 July andSaturday 15 August.

The professional category attracts riders from across thecountry, with its 1,000 end-of-season cash prize in September.Tom Bowles, a cable operator and instructor at the wake park,was placed second in last months competition. Tom issponsored by Liquid Force Wakeboards and Rockerline and isone of the wake parks best riders. Other past winners includemany UK and world champions.

Sheffield Cable Waterski isnt just for talented thrill seekers. Itis also a great family day out and the wake park is very popularwith spectators, who can watch all the action unfold whilstsoaking up the sun. There is also a campsite and BBQ facilitiesavailable, as well as a caf and licensed bar that overlooks the water.

The park is also an ideal day out for groups of friends. Thecable ski machine has eight carriers so there are always peopleriding (or falling off and swimming about) at the same time,making it a great social event.

Whether youre an experienced rider, a family with youngchildren or a spectator, Sheffield Cable Waterski is a fantasticexperience for everyone and a little pocket of sunshine to enjoythis summer.

Aseries of charity events at The Sitwell Arms is helping tosave young lives and is the result of one mumchannelling her grief into something positive. Jo-Anne Oldfield, managing director of the 18th century

hotel, embarked on her charitable quest for the Neonatal Unitat Chesterfield Royal Hospital after the loss of her baby. Mac,who was born prematurely, fought bravely for 17 days butpassed away in October 2013.

Jo-Anne and her husband Damion received loads of supportfrom family, friends and NHS staff, particularly from Jo-Annesmidwife Anahi Wheeldon-Lopez. Despite her personal grief, Jo-Anne felt the need to do more. Determined to keep Macsmemory alive and finding comfort through action, Jo-Annedecided to use The Sitwell Arms as a venue for a number ofcharity events in aid of the Neonatal Unit.
