JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL 16 December 2013 Dear Parents of Grade 7 students, Preparations are now underway for the CONFIRMATION RITES for Grades 8 and 7 scheduled in January and February 2014 respectively. Please see below the important schedules related to the Confirmation Rites for Grade 7:
Orientation on the Sacrament of Confirmation for Parents and Godparents January 11, 2014 (Saturday)

Please note the following important matters:
1. All parents of Grade 7 students need to give their decision regarding the Confirmation of their sons. Please indicate your decision on the reply slip below.
2. There will be a Confirmation fee for Grade 7 in the amount of php 1,000.00. In addition to the operational expenses related to the administration of the Sacrament of Confirmation, this amount will include a specially-‐ tailored tie for the students to wear on this special day. All Grade 7 students who will receive the Sacrament of Confirmation must pay the Confirmation fee on January 9 – 10, 2014 (Thursday – Friday). University cashiers will be stationed at the Junior HS administration office to receive the payments of the students and issue the Official Receipts. To avoid any losses, cheque payments are preferred. Please make the cheque payable to the Ateneo de Manila.
3. All parents and godparents of the students who will be confirmed must attend the Orientation on the Sacrament of Confirmation.

4. Only students whose parents and godparents will be able to attend the Orientation on the
Sacrament of Confirmation will be allowed to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation on the scheduled date for his class. Those who may not be available to attend the scheduled Orientation for Grade 7 may make a request to attend the Orientation for Grade 8 later on the same day at 10:30 am (registration at 9:30 am). The request must be made in writing and addressed to Mrs. Felicidad B. Santos, Grade Level Coordinator. Another option would be to present proof of attendance in a similar Orientation for Confirmation. The document submitted will be evaluated by the Grade 7 GLC together with offices concerned. Please note that these alternative options will be allowed only for special meritorious cases duly approved by the JHS administration. Those who will be unable to attend the Orientation for Confirmation or present an alternative proof of attendance will have to wait for the following school year for their sons to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation through the Ateneo de Manila.
5. Each student who will receive the Sacrament of Confirmation will be allowed to have only one godparent, a Ninong OR a Ninang, during the Confirmation Rites.
6. Four seats will be allowed for each student who will be confirmed: one for the student, two for his parents and one for his godparent. Other family members, relatives and friends may stay in the remaining seats in the general public area.
7. The attire for the students who will receive the Sacrament of Confirmation will consist of: formal black pants, plain white long-‐sleeved polo shirt with the special tie (to be obtained through the school), black leather shoes and black pair of socks. Please refer to the illustration on the right for the prescribed attire.
8. All godparents, parents and guests are requested to come in appropriate Church attire. Ninongs are requested to come in Barong Tagalog, dark-‐colored pants and black shoes while Ninangs are requested to come in semi-‐formal attire.
9. All documents required for the Sacrament of Confirmation should have been submitted already as communicated in a previous memo to all parents. Please note that the Ateneo de Manila will not issue the students’ Certificates for the Sacrament of Confirmation. As required by the Church, these Certificates may only be issued by the Sta. Maria della Strada Parish Church where the Ateneo de Manila belongs.
