WHATMAKES UP A CULTURE?

According to Clifford Greetz, there are seven factor that makes up a

culture:

*Laws- what political authorities have decided people should do and

what the sanctions are.

*Values- what people say one ought to do or not do or what is

considered good and bad.

*Rules- what a society has decided its member should do and the

sanctions imposed

*Social categories- ways of thinking about types of people.

*Tacit models- implicit standards and patterns of behavior that aperson does not think about.

*Assumptions- implicit, not usually articulated ideas and beliefs.
