About SHWO について

It is with great pride that we welcome you to our beautiful country Australia, and the Shake Hands with OZ extended family. As the name suggests, at SHWO we want to introduce you personally to Australian people and places.

When people think of Australians, they think of relaxed, sports-loving, friendly and multicultural people. When they think of Australia, they think of white, sandy beaches, tropical rainforests and the amazing Great Barrier Reef. However, about seventy per cent is dry and arid, which some may think is harsh, uninteresting and inhospitable. They may believe that this is an area where nothing lives and no one goes. In fact, nothing could be further from the truth. This is where much of the ‘real’ Australia and Aussies can be found!

At Shake Hands with OZ, we constantly strive to provide our members with opportunities in which they can ‘thrive’, just like the hardy creatures of the Australian desert!

オーストラリアの人々から連想されるものには、おおらか、スポーツが大好き、フレンドリー、多文化的などが挙げられます。そしてオーストラリアについては、真っ白な砂浜、トロピカルな熱帯雨林や雄大なグレートバリアリーフが真っ先に浮かびます。しかし、オーストラリアの7割は乾燥地帯であり、過酷で、殺伐とした、荒涼たる場所ととらえられがちです。生き物はおらず、訪れる者もいない地域とさえ思われているかもしれません。ところが、これはまったくの誤りなのです。この地こそ、「本当の」オーストラリアとオージーに出会える場所なのです！Shake Hands with OZでは、メンバーの皆さんに、オーストラリアの砂漠にいるたくましい生き物と同様、「成長」できるチャンスを提供していくことを常に心がけています！

The Working Holiday visa (subclass 417) is a temporary visa for young people who want to holiday and work in Australia for up to a year, with the possibility of extend-ing for another year. This visa encourages cultural exchange and closer ties between Australia and eligible countries.

First Working Holiday visa: You must be outside Australia when you apply for your first Working Holiday visa and when the visa is approved. Working Holiday visa extension: If you apply in Australia, you must be in Australia when the visa is granted. If you apply out-side Australia, you must be outside Austra-lia when the visa is granted. Requirements You may be granted this visa if you:• are at least 18 but not yet 31 years of

age• do not have a dependent child

accompanying you at any time during your stay in Australia

• have a passport from an eligible country

ワーキングホリデービザ（サブクラス417）は、オーストラリアで最長1年間のホリデーと就業を希望する若者向けの一時滞在者用ビザで、1年間の延長が可能な場合があります。このビザは、オーストラリアと提携国との文化交流を推進し、つながりを強化することを目的としています。

ファースト・ワーキングホリデービザ：最初のワーキングホリデービザの申請および承認時点で、オーストラリア国外に滞在している必要があります。

ワーキングホリデービザの延長：オーストラリアで申請する場合、ビザ発給時にオーストラリアに滞在している必要があります。オーストラリア国外で申請する場合、ビザ発給時にオーストラリア国外に滞在している必要があります。

iTalk English Program As a member of SHWO, you will receive access to our exclusive iTalk English Program™. The program focuses on the following outcomes for clients: Flexibility to use English in any situation Accuracy to be understood easily Fluency to communicate effectively Inititave to take on challenges Range to talk to anyone, anytime, anywhere The program is delivered across four levels and clients will receive learning support as they proceed through the program. It is especially designed to allow you to work at your own pace, with guidance from your Learning Mentor. Your Learning Mentor will assist you in planning a pathway for your study, with guidance on how to best combine work and developing your English skills.

iTalk英語プログラムの重点は、利用者の方々に以下の成果を得ていただくことです柔軟さによって、臨機応変に英語を使用する正確さによって、スムーズに理解される 流暢さによって、効果的にコミュニケーションをとる 積極さによって、難しい課題に挑戦する 幅広さによって、だれとでも、いつでも、どこでも話すこのプログラムは4つのレベルが用意されており、利用者はプログラム進捗に沿って学習サポートを受けていただけます。担当の学習サポー ター からのガイダンスを元に、自分のペースで学習に取り組めるように設定されています。

担当の学習メンターは、学習の進捗計画をサポートすると共に、仕事と英語スキルの上達のための最適な組み合わせについてのアドバイスを提供します。

Our placements range from small, family-owned businesses to five star resorts throughout Australia. Our hosts are Australians who are excited to meet you and want to be part of your ‘Aussie’ experience. They want to help you settle into a new lifestyle, and learn about Australian culture. They also want to get to know about you and your culture, and communicate with you in English.

Shake Hands with OZ has opportunites for itsmembers to work in a number of industries including:

SHWO organises your work placement for you. We work with your employer to makesure you are treated well, and get the bestexperience at your work placement. Your employer signs an agreement with SHWO that out-lines their responsibilities to you. At the end of your work placement and training you will receive a Certificate of Completion in your industry.

Shake Hands with OZは、以下を始めとする様々な業種で働く機会をメンバーに提供します。

Eligibility応募資格 Our program has entry requirements, so if you would like to apply for the SHWO Program you must meet the folllowing criteria:

• Japanese• Must qualify for 417 Visa• 18 - 30 years of age• Have previous work experience• Have a strong desire to improve English skills• Complete the SHWO pre-entry program• Want to communicate with people from different cultures
