Installation Checklist
Ensure CCA is complete.
Download all the latest software.
Ensure the availability of Internet connectivity.
Gather the IP address, network mask, and DNS serverinformation from the Internet service provider.
Ensure the availability of PSTN access via either FXO, BRI, orT1/E1 PRI.

Installation Checklist (Cont.)
Place the UC520, CE520, and WLC526 units in a location thatallows for access to the front panel.
Ensure all units have access to power and remote connections.
Ensure the appropriate grounding wires and other electrical safetyissues have been addressed.
Ensure installation has been completed.
Verify the factory default VLAN, internal IP addresses, SSID, anddial plan to be used.

Provisioning Sequence
Initial Setup
Verify pre-configured plug-and-play functionalities
Upgrade the system software if necessary
Provision Internet connection and DNS
Provision for off-network calls Verify working IP telephony
Expand wired network by adding CE520 devices
Enable WLAN using integrated AP (for 8 to 16-user models only)
Expand the WLAN:
Autonomous AP (AP-521)
WLAN Controllers (WLC-526)
Set additional configurations for the SBCS network
Provision VPN service for mobile workers and teleworkers

Internet Connection
Pre-configured DHCP option will work if:
ISP provides DHCP-based dynamic IP address delivery.
There is no requirement for teleworker-location support.
Use VPN server with static IP address for teleworker

IP Telephony Configuration
PBX mode
Incoming PSTN calls routed to anattendant console or an AA.
Phone users may be in separateoffices or geographically separated.
Phone users may use the telephoneto contact each other.
Keyswitch mode
All IP phones share lines.
Incoming PSTN calls can beanswered by any IP phone.
Phone users are generally closer inproximity.
Phone users have little need to usethe telephone to contact each other.
Changing the mode after installation requires reconfiguration of UC520.

Lesson Summary
The SBCS implementation of a secure voice and data networksupports up to 48 voice-users and up to 250 data-users withcentralized controller-based WLAN capability.
The SBCS implementation follows a logical sequence of stepsneeded to provision most common deployment scenarios.
The SBCS implementation requires that you ensure the completeinstallation of CCA and the availability of Internet connectivity andPSTN prior to installation or configuration of any of the networkingor VoIP components.
