Joe, after severalmonths of courtship,
we ended up together. My first boyfriend ev-er! I was so excited. I
was idealistic. I want-ed things just to be asperfect as it could be.
As they say, whenyoure in love, youtend to do silly things.
Yes, I did. I was sup-posed to graduate
with flying colors, butI chose to spend moretime with Vince.
I dropped one sub-ject and extended mystay in school. I gaveall the love andsweetness that I havekept with me for thelongest time. Butthings didnt turn outas how I would wantit to be.
I remembered thefirst time that Vince, his ex-gf and I, went
to a party held by ourcommon friend. Vincenever bothered intro-ducing me to his ex-girlfriend as his cur-rent one. He neverdid show in anysweet way that I washis girlfriend. It hurts!I even learned thatthey were still writing

I may be gimick-era during my high
school and collegeyears, but I managedto keep my grades ashigh as they can be. Ipromised myself notto get involved in anyrelationship not untilmy last term in col-lege.
In my last term ofcollege, Vince cameinto the picture. Imay say that I got acrush on him. Vince
and I were carpool-mates. I drive himhome because hedoesnt have a car. Wedid some small talkson our way home, heeven mentioned tome before how heloves his Chinese girl-friend at that time.

When Iconfrontedhim about it,he told methat those
were justfriendly gestures. Its I
whom he loves andcares for now. He wassorry for hurting meand that hell makeup for it. I was hope-lessly idealistic even if
I got hurt.I have forgivenhim. I love him. Butthe past still hauntsme most of the time. Its a matter thatcouldnt make memove on with ourlives. Yes, we endedup together after 6and a half years of anon and off relation-ship. I gave birth toa cute little princess.
But recently thewhat if syndromehas been killing mebadly. I started feelingsorry for myself fornot letting other mencome to my life, fornot letting myself ex-perience the wonderof being in love withsomeone else, experi-ence more of thesweet stuff. Maybe
with them, Id feelvery important.Maybe theyd put meon a pedestal to makeme feel that I am re-ally worth keeping.
Joe, I do not likewhat Im feeling rightnow. I am still tryingto defend that I amnot just my hubbyspanakip-butas, still
convincing myself thathe wanted me andchose me to be his
wife not because Imthe next best girl forhim but because it is I
whom he really loves.Until when will I
feel this insecurity? What would be thebest thing for me todo now?
JEN
Dear Jen, It seemsto me that youmarried a man
whom you love
more than heloves you. This is not unusual.
All relationships havedifferent mixes ofamounts of affection. There is often one wholoves slightly morethan the other. I dont
see anything wrongwith this.
What I feel worriedabout are the wishfulthoughts that occupy
your mind. The factthat you are feeling
sorry for yourself andwondering what lifecould have been had
you allowed yourselfto love someone elsereveals a certain de-
gree of remorse.A lot of women feel
the way you do, Jen. Ibelieve that the bestway to lose a woman is
to take her for grantedand make her feel that
she is unimportant andunloved. Unfortunately,a lot of men dont real-ize this until its almosttoo late.
Jen, you have tounderstand that it isunhealthy to still thinkabout what life couldhave been with othermen. You have to stop
thinking that Vincemarried you even if he
still loves his ex girl-friend. We have to re-member that marriagecloses the door of the
past and builds a newlife on what it has inthe present.
The best thing to donow is remove all illthoughts that make
you feel miserable . Fo-cus on your family. You have a beautifuldaughter to nurtureand take care of. Jen,even if you feel like
giving up, never tire in
showing your husbandthat you love him.Communication is thekey to most marriages
success. It has beensaid that unless wecan honestly say whatwe feel, good or bad,to the people we love,we cannot truly saythat we are one.
Make him under-stand what you are
going through. Tellhim how you feel. If heloves you, he wouldnt
get mad. He would un-derstand why you feelthat way and sincerelydo something about it.Give him the chance to
prove his love for youand help him show it.
Jen, there may betimes when we feel likewe married the wrong
person or we couldhave had a better lifewith someone else.
But, let us always re-member that if wemarried that personbecause of love thenthe real measure of itwould be in our abilityto continue to lovethat person even whenwe can find no reasonat all to love anymore.
and I met, Ive seenhim and his girlfrienddoing some sweetstuff for each other.Unfortunately, Vince
was not accepted byhis girlfriends familyfor he is not Chineselike they are. The girl
was forced to leavehim.
My best friend, knowing that I liked
Vince, did everythingto hook us up. And
MSG has been one ofthe most thoroughlyand extensively stud-ied food ingredients todate. Since 1987, theUnited Nations JointExpert Committee onFood Additives (JEC-FA), a committee es-tablished by the WorldHealth Organization(WHO) and the Foodand Agriculture Orga-nization (FAO), offi-

Enough of the sneak peeks. Its time to see if there will be ahappy ending. May our nextleader be well-equipped for hisrole to rule.
OGIE ALCASID: I wouldgather all political parties andask them to forget our differ-ences so we can help each other
achieve our common goal offighting corruption.CHINA COJUANGCO: I
would first select qualified andhonest cabinet members, filecharges against suspected cor-rupt officials and let the justicesystem run its course. Then Icould work on resolutions tothe problems of our countrysuch as poverty, unemploymentand low standards of educa-tion.
DIREK JOEY REYES: Iwould work to remove the cul-
ture of divisiveness, encouragethe youth to have a sense ofcommitment to their countryand foster national vision ratherthan addiction to legends andmiracles.
RACHEL ALEJANDRO: Iwould implement better healthcare programs. I would devotemy time to programs that edu-cate people on good nutritionas a tool for preventing dis-eases.
ROWELL SANTIAGO: Sincemy term as President expires intwo weeks in Tanging Yaman,I think I would use my remain-ing days to unite the countryand restore in everyone thesense of pride of being Fili-pino.
DREW ARELLANO: I wouldchange the old system of poli-tics, do lifestyle and perfor-mance checks then kick outthose who dont make thegrade. Corruption is very hardto eradicate but I think its a
major reason why the country iswhat it has become.
IC MENDOZA: I wouldmove my office to Boracay so Ican work in a state of bliss. Ifthe President has peace of mindthen it follows that the country
will be at peace. Chos!MR. FU: I would hold a
Thanksgiving Mass, get a relax-ing massage and have a goodsleep. As soon as I wake up, I
will form a team that will put injail all people with negativevibes. I will call it the NegaBusters. Haha! I believe that forthis country to succeed, weshould all have a positive atti-tude. Ang lahat ng nega, dakpinat ikulong! May ganun?
BAYANI AGBAYANI: Iwould give free education tothe less fortunate and free hos-pitalization and monthly al-lowance to all senior citizens.
SUZI ENTRATA: The firstthing I would do is pray. To runa whole country, I would haveto have strong faith and uphold
my values. What would I
change? I would start withhealthcare and model my pro-
jects after established organiza-
tions like Kapuso Foundationand Gawad Kalinga. I willstrengthen local tourism by en-couraging local rates for Pinoys.
As it is now, its cheaper to trav-el out of the country than with-in the country. My ultimate goalis for Pinoys to be proud of whothey are and love their country.
GABBY CONCEPCION: Iwould pray for guidance.

More superbEugene
It certainly looks like EugeneDomingo will outdo herself inthe movie Here Comes the Bride,
which opens in theaters on May12. After her superb perfor-
mance in Kimmy Dora, Uge willcaptivate us with her zany por-trayal of Precy, a rich, self-con-scious lawyer and aging ninang
who is still hoping to catch onlifes sweetness.
Her movie follows an uncon-ventional plot where a chain ofunlucky events lead to a chaoticbody-swapping adventure. Thefunny bride has something new, something old, something bor-rowed but nothing (to make
you) blue.

JUST to lighten the post-election tension, I askedsome celebs these questions: Whats the first thing
you would do if you were voted President? Whatsthe first thing you would change in our society?
