    Your camera has internal memory. You can purchase an SD or SDHC card toconveniently store more pictures/videos.

    CAUTION:

    A card can only be inserted one way; forcing it may cause damage.Inserting or removing a card while the camera is on may damage thepictures, the card, or the camera. Formatting internal memory or anSD/SDHC card deletes all (including protected) pictures/videos.

    IMPORTANT: For best performance, format the card in the camera before taking pictures.

    1 Press the Menu button, then tap the Setup tab.

    2 Tap , then tap Format.

    3 Tap Memory Card, then follow the on-screen prompts.

    Taking a video

    1 Tap Mode.

    2 Tap Video.

    The camera enters Video mode.

    3 Press the Shutter button completely down,then release it. To stop recording, press and release

    the Shutter button again.

    Using the 3X optical zoom1 Use the LCD to frame your subject.

    2 To zoom in, press Telephoto (T).

    To zoom out, press Wide Angle (W).

    3 Take the picture or video.

    Using digital zoom

    Use digital zoom in any picture-taking mode to get up to 5X magnification beyondoptical zoom. Press Telephoto (T) until the slider is at the top of the optical zoom range.Release Telephoto (T), then press it again.

    NOTE: You may notice decreased image quality when using digital zoom. The slider pauses and turns redwhen the picture quality reaches the limit for an acceptable 4 x 6-in. (10 x 15 cm) print. You cannot

    use digital zoom in Smart Capture or video mode.

    Using the flash

    1 In any Still mode, open the Settings panel.

    2 Tap Flash repeatedly, until the desired setting (see

    table, below) appears at the bottom of the LCD.

    3 Compose the scene. Press the Shutter buttonhalfway, then completely down.

    Every time you take a picture. Use when the subject is in shadow or is backlit.In low light, hold the camera steady or use a tripod.

    In Red Eye flash: If Red Eye Preflash is on (in the Setup menu), the flash fires twice, shrinking

    the eye pupil and reducing the chance of red eye.

    If Red Eye Preflash is off, the flash fires once and the camera firmware helpsremove red eye.

    Using the self-timer

    Use the self-timer when you want to be included in a picture, or to ensure a steadyShutter button press. Place the camera on a tripod or flat surface.

    1 In any Still mode, tap Settings to open the Settingspanel.

    2 Tap Self-Timer/Burst repeatedly, until the desired

    Self-timer icon appears at the bottom of the LCD:10 secondsA picture is taken after a 10-seconddelay (so you have time to get into the scene).

    2 secondsA picture is taken after a 2-seconddelay (for a steady, auto-shutter release on a tripod).

    2 shotThe first picture is taken after a 10-second

    delay. A second picture is taken 8 seconds later.3 Compose the scene. Press the Shutter button halfway, then completely down.

    The camera takes the picture/pictures after the delay.

    Using burst

    Use burst to take up to 3 pictures in quick succession.1 In P mode (or in some SCN modes), tap Settings to open the Settings panel.

    2 Tap Self-Timer/Burst repeatedly, until the Burst icon appears on the LCD.

    3 Press the Shutter button halfway to focus and set exposure.

    4 Press the Shutter buttoncompletely down and hold itto take pictures.

    Using focus modes

    For more flexibility, you can adjust the cameras focus distance.NOTE: Focus modes are not available in Smart Capture mode because focus distance is automatically

    selected.

    1 Tap Settings to open the Settings panel.

    2 Tap Focus repeatedly, until the desired settingappears at the bottom of the LCD. (See the table,below.)

    Protecting pictures/videos from deletion

    1 Press the Review button.

    3 Press the Menu button.

    4 Tap Protect.

    The picture/video is protected. The Protect icon appears with the protected

    picture/video. Favorites automatically receive a Protect tag. Tap Exit to exit the menu.

    CAUTION:

    Formatting internal memory or an SD or SDHC card deletes all (including protected)pictures/videos. Formatting internal memory also deletes email addresses, tag names, andfavorites.

    Searching pictures by date, favorites, or other tag

    If you have many pictures on your camera or card, you can sort them so that only someare visible at a time. You can sort by the date a picture was taken orif youve taggedpictures with a favorites tag or a tag that you createdyou can sort by tag.

    1 Press the Review button, then the Menu button.

    2 Tap Search.

    3 Tap Date, Favorite, or Tag, then tap a folder.

    4 Tap a folder. If desired, choose another tab.

    5 To see the results of your search, tap Exit, then tap Save.

    Using Kodak Perfect Touch technology

    Kodak Perfect Touch technology helps ensure better, brighter pictures. Perfect Touch isautomatically applied to pictures taken in Smart Capture mode. (You cannotenhance videos, panoramic pictures, pictures that are already enhanced, or picturestaken in Smart Capture mode.)

    1 Press the Review button.

    2 Tap for previous/next picture.3 Press the Menu button, then tap the Edit tab. Touch Perfect Touch tech.

    The enhancement is previewed in a split screen. Touch to view other parts of thepicture.

    4 Follow the screen prompts to replace the original picture or to save the enhanced

    picture as a new one. Tap Exit to exit the menu.

    Limited WarrantyKodak warrants Kodak consumer electronic products and accessories (Products), excluding batteries, to be free

    from malfunctions and defects in both materials and workmanship for one year from the date of purchase. Retainthe original dated sales receipt. Proof of the date of purchase will be required with any request for warranty repair.Limited warranty coverageWarranty service is only available from within the country where the Products were originally purchased. You maybe required to ship Products, at your expense, to the authorized service facility for the country where the Productswere purchased.
