The Wise Old Man
The Wise Old Man says, “Better a live
coward than a dead hero.” This old proverb
states that it is better to run away from an
impossible (possibly fatal) situation, than it is
to fight and die. In the main reading, the lying
traveler was rewarded, and the traveler that
felt he must tell the truth was killed.
