CONOCIDO POR SUS CUADROS SOBRE LA TRADICIÓN CLÁSICA.
Sir Lawrence Alma TademaNacio en Dronrijp (Holanda) el 8 de enero de 1836 y murió en Wiesbaden, en 1912.
Primera etapa de formación y primeros años (1852-1856) como pintor en Amberes.
Sigue en Bélgica hasta 1870, donde se forma con los maestros Dyckmanns y Louis
Jan de Taeye.
Su segunda etapa, de madurez y éxito, se desarrolla en Gran Bretaña (1870-1912).
Sus obras pretenden la exacta reproducción de la antigüedad, sin caer en la
convencionalidad de los académicos franceses.
Cuida de los detalles de la arquitectura, el mobiliario y la indumentaria.
