Ladies Summer Book StudyTuesdays, through July 22, 9:30-11:00am, Room A 391, Led by Judith BonePutting Away Childish Things [a work of fiction] by Marcus Borg is an engaging way for readers to learn about the important issues dividing Christians today. We’ll join with Borg’s characters to ask the hard questions such as what does the Bible really teach? Who is Jesus? What is the nature of faith today? 61st Ave UMC Summer Program Project Transformation We still need reading volunteers to work alongside 61st Ave. UMC and Project Transfor-mation starting July 21-24 (9:15am-12:15pm). A one-on-one investment in one of these children through this reading program will deeply enrich you and the child’s educational endeavors. Christmas in July: Back to School Supplies Beginning July 5th and 6th, our trees will be decorated with ornaments to be taken and returned with the coordinating supply list. Last year we distributed 650 book bags to children in our area schools. As we prepare for the collection of supplies, we invite you to consider how you will impact children in our schools. Summer Field Trip Sponsorships NeededWe are in need of $100 sponsorships for our students to attend field trips this summer. We have forty-five elementary students and we’ll be attending a field trip each Friday. $100 will cover one students field trip costs for the entire summer.
