    पाटीर िग क  ुचशाटी िकव िपरपाटीम -्अिगाधप स  तुाघोटी ख  रुािदधक धाटीम उ्दार म  खु वीटी रस  ने तन  तुाम ॥् १

    च  टेी भवन ि्िनखल ख  टेी  = being served by all the worlds(and their inhabitants; also sky-dwellers i.e., devas)

    िशिखर-भ  पाल वशिमण-दीिपायता  = who brought light (by beingborn) into the clan of the Mountain-King (Himalaya)

    आिळीभर -्आ तन  रुाळी लसत ि्य कपोळीष  ुख  िेलत भवाळी नक  ुिसत च  ळी भरा चरण ध  ळी लसन -्म  िुनगणा ।आळी-भतृ ौिवस ताळी-दलम व्िहत याळीक िशोभ ितलकासाळी करोत  ु मम काळी मनः पद नाळीक स  वेन िवध ॥ ३

    भव-ाळी नक  ुली  = She who is mongoose to the Serpent-likebirth-death cycle

    आळी-भतृ ौिवस  = in her honey-pot-like earsताळी-दळम ् विहत ता   = who wears a folded leaf as her ear-

    कीय-जन-पा  = she who is on the side of those who considerthemselves to belong to her

    िवप िवम  खुी   = and indifferent to those who pit themselvesagainst

    िनरा  पे िश  = unchallenged powerय  शे स  िेवत  = served by kubera, the king of yakShas, and lordof

    wealth

    जय ल अवधान कलना  = who brings about attainment andretention of one’s cherished objectives

    Though this is said to contain 10 verses, it has three more in

    some

    recensions, and they too are included in the end (11-13).

    The metre used for these verses is

    called अ धािट   the cadence of hooves of horses, meaning thatMother

    Nature’s gait is not slow placed, nor hurrying, but rythmic and

    rational. So

    the chanters are requested to know each word, hence they are

    painfully

    cleaved, blend it with the other and then rythmically chant.
