Variables for Exercise #6
Dependent Variable: RAP Rs liking for rap
Independent Variable: AGECAT Rs age
Control Variable: RACE Rs race
Bivariate Hypothesis: Depending on how many younger and older respondents will
determined how many people like rap music. The younger respondents will like rap
music more than the older respondents. There will be half of the middle age respondents
that will like rap music and the other half will dislike rap music. I feel that with the
middle age respondents, their attitude towards rap music will be determined by their
surroundings.
Multivariate Hypothesis: Although the age of the respondents affect the results of the
individuals liking rap music, the race also influence the results. My opinion, I feel that
there will be more black people liking rap than white. There are some white rap artist but
I still feel that blacks will like it more because of the content of the song.

Bivariate Discussion: My hypothesis was correct; the young respondents like results are
larger than the other respondents. To my surprise, there were a huge number of younger
respondents that dislike rap music. There were 47 respondents in the age group of 18-29
that dislikes rap music. 60 of the respondents from the middle age category while there
were only 38 of the respondents from the middle age category that like rap music. Out of
the whole research there were 73 of the 40 and older respondents had the largest number
of the respondents that dislike rap music.
Multivariate Discussion: As my hypothesis stated, that the black respondents results
where higher than the whites in all three categories. There where 43.9 of the white
respondents of the younger respondents that like rap music where as there where 81.6 of
the black respondents that like rap music; big difference isnt it. There were 70 of the
black respondents in the age group 30-39 that like rap music and 34 of the white
respondents. Like I stated before the results of the white and black has a big gap between
the respondents that like rap from each age group.
