The vehicle could have moved to the wrong lane of the road and collided head-on with the Mazda Sedan carry- ing five occupants. “A black bakkie was also involved in the collision.” According to Marius Minnaar, owner of Hermanus Towing, their tow trucks have two chains connect- ed to a towed vehicle. “If the one chain breaks, it will not cause the car to swerve to the other side of the road. It will just cause the car to be lower to the ground.” Gawie Janse van Vuuren, the driv- er of the tow truck, says he heard a big bang in the back of the car he was towing. The next moment he woke up next to the road in the bushes.” But, says Janse van Vuuren, if the white car he was towing veered off in- to the oncoming lane, crashing into the blue Mazda, the white car would have had blue paint on its body. “The same with my yellow tow truck, no blue paint is seen on the tow truck.” Mazuthu says two men in the Maz- da died on the scene and the three other occupants, who were seriously injured, were taken to Hermanus Provincial Hospital. NewcamerasonN2 tomeasureaveragespeedoverdistanceSlowing down when you spot the newspeed cameras will not be sufficient toavoid a speeding fine. The new averagespeed over distance (ASOD) cameras onsections of the N2, on Sir Lowry’s Passand near Steenbras dam, measure theaverage speed you travel over a certaindistance.

According to the Minister of TransportandPublicWorks, DonaldGrant, this is thesixth phase of expansion of the systemwhich now covers 28,8 km of the N2, follow-ing previous activations along the R61, theR27, and most of the N1.“We hope that this further extension of

the system will result in a continued de-crease in both road fatalities, as well asspeedviolationsontheprovince’smostdan-gerous roads.”How it works:

) The average speed over distance (AS-OD) system calculates the average speed ofa vehicle from the time it passes the firstcamera until it passes the second camera.

) The average speed is then determinedby the time that it has taken a vehicle totravel from point A (where the first camerais located) topointB(where thesecondcam-era is located).

)ReachingpointB ina timeshorter thanthe time which is determined by the dis-tance and the speed limit, means that thedriver was speeding.First four phases of ASOD:1. October 2011: R61 from Beaufort West

to Aberdeen covering 71,6 km.2. December 2012: N1 from Beaufort West

to Three Sisters covering 31,7 km.3. October 2013: R27 West Coast covering

57,2 km.4. December 2013: N1 Beaufort West to

Laingsburg covering 190,6 km.5. December 2014: N1 Laingsburg to

Touws River covering 72,1 km.This sixth phase of the ASOD system

brings the coverage by the system of theprovince’smostdangerousroadsto452kilo-metres.Thelatesttwosectionscovered,including

Sir Lowry’s Pass, are:) Section 1: Somerset West (Elandskloof

point) to Steenbras.) Section 2: Steenbras to Houwhoek.Grant says these specific areas have seen

a number of accidents and fatalities in re-cent years. “We remain confident that withthe ASOD system in place, more and morepeople will slow down on these stretches, thereby substantially reducing their likeli-hoodofbeing involved in thehorrific crash-esthatwehaveseeninthepast,particularlyalong the longer distance roads.”

The Average Speed Over Distance (ASOD) cameras are now installed on the section from Somerset West (Elandskloof point) to Steenbras, and from Steenbras to Houwhoek. PHOTOS: CILENE BEKKER

Lemm’sCorner –adream in themakingCILENE BEKKER

The daughter of Bernard Lemonsky - afterwhom Lemm’s Corner is named, visitedHermanus over the Easterweekend for thefirst time in 15years. She lives inScotland.

This visit is fortuitous, seeing the attentionfocused on the revamp of Lemm’s, and couldnot have happened at a better time, accordingtotheHermanusHistorySocietyandBethHuntfromHemingways, whohaslongadvocatedthatsomething “be done” about the corner.

The home of Bernard, his wife Elisabeth anddaughter Ruth, was on Lemm’s Corner. It waspartlyahouseandpartlyageneraldealercalledLemm’s Stores.

Ruth was five years old when the familymoved to Hermanus in 1960. She attended pri-mary school here. “It was a stone building then, with outside toilets,” recalls Ruth.

Along with this recollection comes manyothersoflivingonLemm’sCornerinHermanuswith a then population of around 4 000, “whichwould swell to 30 000 over Easter weekend”.

“IrememberonerainydaywhenIwasbored, andsat lookingoutthewindowandhowexcitedI was at the sight of a total of two cars in onehour coming around the corner!”

“I remember the shop well. It was an old-fash-ioned drapery selling material, hats, ladiesclothes, menswear and household items.

“Irememberthe fig treesontheproperty thatstretched to where the old library was, bushesof Christmas roses in the garden, the lawn, thevegetable patches.”

Many of her recollections are of places nolonger around, nor is her childhood home onLemm’s corner, which was demolished in the1980s. “I have avoided Hermanus. It was so sadnot to say goodbye to the house. Now that I amolder I see things differently and Hermanus isoften in my thoughts and dreams. I am lovingbeing back here.”

Ruth says in one of her dreams she saw a de-velopment taking place on Lemm’s corner –that a decision had been made to rebuild thefacade of the house, featuring lovely stalls.

This is a coincidence of timing with the re-vamp plans currently under way. For this pur-

pose,awalkaboutandmeetingwithRuth,Eliza-bethduToit (manageroftheOldHarbourmuse-um) and members of the Hermanus HistorySociety were scheduled on Monday morning.(TheHHShasbeenaskedbytheHarbourMuse-um committee to put forward a proposal to in-clude history in the developments).

Ruth explained the lay of the land back thento the group and said she would like to seesomething of that history incorporated into thenew plans.

“It would, for instance, be lovely to have abench here dedicated to the memory of my par-ents, Bernard and Elisabeth Lemonsky. Per-haps even a board depicting what it looked likebefore.”

Ruth has undertaken to provide drawingsand photos of the lay-out of her childhood homeand garden.

During the walkabout, Du Toit mentionedthat investors may be interested in construct-ing a replica of the building. In which way, shapeor formneedstobediscussedandinvesti-gated, as the first trees will soon be planted onLemm’s Corner.

Lemm’s Stores used to be part house, part general dealer store andstood on what is known as Lemm’s Corner. The building was demolished in the 80s.

So how did it come about that Ruth Lemonsky (left) decided to come and visit Hermanus, after a gap of 15 years, and walk down memory lane on the very spot where her childhoodhome used to be on Lemm’s Corner? Beth Hunt’s book on Hermanus was the catalyst. Ruthhad bought the book via kalahari.net and was so moved by the inserts on Lemm’s Corner, that she hunted Beth (right) down via facebook. “I was busy writing an article on Lemm’s forthe Izibusiso cookery book when I received Ruth’s first message. It was such a strange coincidence!” says Beth. They met up on Saturday morning at Hemingways.) For more information on the history of Lemm’s Store and the Lemonsky family, get a copyof the late SJ du Toit’s Hermanus Stories III. Bernard Lemonsky (Ruth’s father) died in 2006,six years after his wife, Elisabeth.

In what is described as a freak, un-fortunate accident, a 27-year-oldman drowned onMondaymorningwhile training with BS DiversCommercial Diving School at thenew harbour.

The deceased, whose name cannotbepublisheduntilhis familymembershave been notified, was a very experi-enced diver and a supervisor diver inthe SA navy. He came to Hermanus aweek ago to train for his commercialdiver’s licence.

Other diving instructors and divingtrainees were on the scene while para-medics from Metro and EMR Ambu-lance Services tried for more than anhour to bring him back to life with ad-

vance life support resuscitation, butto no avail.

He was declared dead on the scene.Boet Scheun, owner of BS Divers,

said the divers did a free dive in theharbour as part of their training. Thedeceased was under water with twoother divers when he apparently gotstuck in the ropes. While trying to gethis weights around his waist off him,he got entangled further.

One of the other divers looked downand saw his partner stuck below. Hewent down and cut him loose. “I thentook him up. He was still breathing, but not conscious. We loaded him ontoa small boat and took him to the slip-way at the harbour where staff beganto give him oxygen until paramedicsarrived,” the diver said.

It is the first time a drowning has

occurred since the opening of BS Div-ers more than 18 years ago.

Scheunsayseveryone isdevastated.“A trauma councillor was sent by theHermanus SAPS to come and talk tous. It is still a big shock to us all.”

) In another incident on Tuesdayafternoon, a 40-year-old farmer fromWorcester drowned after he took hisfarm workers on an outing at Palmiet,Kleinmond. It is alleged that the manwent for a swim, but never returned. When the farm workers looked forhim, they found him in the water, pre-sumably already dead.

Theytookhimtoaclinicnearby, butit was too late. They then took him tothe Kleinmond Police Station.

According to EMR Ambulance Ser-vice, they declared the man dead at thestation.

Imagine going about yourroutine fishing business atsea and suddenly huge can-ons are being fired at you inpitch darkness. You realise aNavy warship could be mis-taking your boat for a remote-controlled vessel that has tobe blown up as part of a train-ing exercise!

Thisiswhathappenedtolo-cal skipper, Anthony Day,and his ten crew members onWednesday 25 March nearStruisbaai.

“Myearswereringing,Ifeltdizzy, petrified and my crewmembers fell to the floor, keeping themselves flat whenthe three shots were fired.”

Dayandhis crew launchedhis boat, Arctic, from Struis-baai harbour around 02:30,heading to fish for geelbek.

At the harbour he had spo-ken to people from a chartercompany on the slipway whohad a radio-controlled vesselof about 14 foot, which he wastold was part of a joint navalexercise between the SA Na-vy and the German Navy.

But, says Day, there werenowarningspriortotheshotsbeing fired, and he was not inthe designated area wherethey were to practise. Plus, the exercise was to take placebetween 06:00 and 18:00 thatevening – not after 02:30 inthe morning.

The remote-controlled ves-sel was launched but did notleavetheharbour.Dayunder-stood the vessel was headingto the area offshore of theDenel missile testing range atDe Hoop.

Day says he then launchedArctic and motored in the op-posite direction away fromthe Denel testing station – al-most 30 miles further.

At sea he saw a ship ap-proaching slowly.

“Suddenly, three shotswere fired. I was moving at a

speed of 17 or 18 knots perhour. If I did not pull back onthe throttle immediately likeI did, I would have beenstraight in the line of fire.”

He immediately switchedon the LED lights on the boat.Healreadyhadhisnavigationand anchor lights on.

“AsIswitchedontheLEDs,they switched off their lights! This was very scary as I real-ised this could be part of theirtraining, thinking we arethe radio-controlled vessel, and that they could go intocombat mode, re-aiming topractise corrective aiming.”

He radioed channel 16 andexplained they were a fishingboat, but got no reply.

Hethen radioedCapeTownRadioandtoldthemwhathadhappened.

Day says Cape Town Radiomade contact with the shipand minutes later told him, thecommandersaystheywillno longer be firing at them,as it was done in error.

Atthetimeofgoingtoprint, the SA Navy had not respond-ed to questions asked by theHermanus Times regardingthe incident.

Day says he is just thankfulthat he and his crew are alive! His wife Tracy and three chil-dren know the work he doeshas a dangerous element, butnothing could prepare themfor the shocking news of Dayand his crew being shot at bya warship.

Day and his crew are stillin shock and traumatised. They received counsellingafter the incident.

Day says no-one from theNavy has contacted him – nottoapologise, nor torequestanincidentreport. “Theyproba-bly hope the incident will dis-appear, just as we almost dis-appeared after they shot atus.” Although the incident isover, they still feel on edge ev-ery time they go out to sea.

Day is seeking legal adviceon the matter.

New chef andowner at EATJANHENDRIK COETZER

Now that EAT restaurant has a new ownerand chef, what has Petri Hendrickz (previ-ous chef/owner) up his sleeve now, wond-ers HT readers.

He is quite mum about his future plans, but says after more than four years afterstarting EAT it was time for him to sell.

“Every day was becoming the same rou-tine. It wasn’t really a challenge anymore. When I opened up ‘At The Village Stall’ nextdoor, that was a new challenge for me. Butwatchthisspace, I’mbusyopeningupanewrestaurant in Hermanus and will be in busi-ness soon,” says Petri.

For new EAT owner Sheena Pruce, beingthrown into the deep was the quickest andbest way to learn. She took over at the startof the busy season towards the end of lastyear.

“I am enjoying every moment and havelearned a lot over the past five months. For-tunately Petri helped out a lot and still popsin from time to time. It’s hard work, but Iam enjoying the new challenge.”

Sheena has an investment backgroundand it is her first time running a restaurant.

The new head chef is Connel Massym, who has trained as a chef at Warwick ChefSchool. He first worked at a few other res-taurants, including restaurants in Eng-land, before joining EAT.

Although they have not changed much tothe menu, “it’s a winning recipe, whychange it?”, they had to invest in a biggerand stronger generator, and can cope witheverything, “except for the pizzas”.

The entire project was implemented to pro-vide an operational regional landfill for theOverstrand andTheewaterskloofMunicipali-ties.This only materialised after three years of

does not have to be transported to the Gans-baai landfill site anymore, which means theexpected lifespan of the Gansbaai landfill sitewill be extended as a result of this project. The project, which cost R9,3 million, was

funded by the municipality out of funds re-ceived as a municipal infrastructure grantfrom the Department of Local Government.Botha-Guthrie also thanked the main con-

Passiespel to go bilingualWith a tragic car accident taking two lives, and two drownings over the Easter weekend, there was also some positive newswith the annual Passiespel again being ahuge success.Weather wise, everything went accord

ing to plan, with the sound and lightingalso getting bigger and better each year.It was also confirmed that this event willbe bilingual as of next year for the firsttime in 20 years. This of course, may berather good news as many people attending each year are English speaking. With a film crew recording the event this

year to be broadcast as a documentarylater, it will most certainly also reacha broader audience and keep growing asa gottosee event in Hermanus overEaster.Perfect example: An Italian guy, who

cannot speak a word of Afrikaans, hasbeen doing the sound for the play for thepast four years. When he approached the organiser

back then, offering his services, his wordswere: “It is my first time here and althoughI cannot understand a word, I felt so emotional and passionate that I just have toget involved with this production somehow.”In whatever language, the production

and message is passionately felt.

This is what I, as a Scandinavian tourist, love about your lovely HermanusI am on my way home again. Or am I leavinghome? The last years I have spent nearly thesame time in Hermanus and South Africaas I have in Sweden. Many of my best friendsare in SA and I feel I am doing more andbetter here than I do in Sweden.

As a professional educationist, it is in myblood to do the best I can to make a differenceto others. For the better of course, accordingto their wishes and desires. Nowadays I feelthis to happen more here in SA than in Swe-den. Maybe even more in Hermanus.

People engaging in SparkleKids(www.sparklekids,co.za) and Get on with it,are some of those who show what is possiblein their commitment to contribute to a morefair and sustainable society.

Members of these groups and others, I amsure, do a lot through networking and otherways of challenging, sharing and caring.People like Francios Barnard, FikiswaGxamesi, Theo and Angie Krynauw, Mzik-ayise Damesi and William Ntebe, just tomention a few of them, are those who helpto bring new value into many people’s lives. And to mine, just by letting me be a part ofit. Through contributions to a better educa-tion and access to university and college, through skills training and job creation, through being friends and getting to knoweach other, through networking and creativ-ity, through activity, doing things together, they make a difference that makes Herma-nus a better place for all. I am proud to takesome part in that. It brings value to my life.

But to earn some money, I also do otherthings. In SA it is about tourism. I wouldsay that in many ways I am also a touristmyself and I enjoy it! Hermanus is a greatplace to be in. It has a lot that brings greatvalue to tourists.

Of course I refer mostly to the Scandinavi-an tourists but I can not see that there shouldbe any great difference between touristsfrom different countries, or from SA

I know that to a tourist, Hermanus is awonderful place to visit for many reasons.I will mention some, in a casual order, andby doing so I hope I can make you Herman-ites even more proud to live here.

Nature, mountains, fynbos, ocean, whales: Of course, your whales, in their sea-son, are a world-known attraction. But othermarine life is there all the time. You arelucky with the sharks and everything elseliving in the ocean. To me and many othersthe view of it is good enough. The settingof Hermanus is stunning and we visitorslove it. I know from my guests and tourists.

Maybe fishing could be more available toall the tourists? If that could be done in away that your guests can get in contact withlocals, it is even better.

Meeting locals is hard. Especially whenyou travel in groups. The job done in restau-rants and bars is very important in this mat-ter. As well as in how the township toursare conducted in a way that gives manymeetings.

One big travel company is now in the proc-ess of doing their township tours in Herma-nus instead of in Cape Town. Just becauseit is better here.

Quality of this kind is very important. Itspreads into other parts of the tourist indus-try of Hermanus. This moving of the town-ship tours to Zwelihle demands that thiscompany stays with their groups for anotherday in Hermanus.

One more night to spend, three more mealsto eat, some more shops to find somethingnice in, some more art galleries to visit.

Quality is also what you get going to thewine farms of Hemel-en-Aarde Valley andthe whole of Walker Bay. The wine is excel-lent and the presentation in the most magnif-icent settings are better and more personaland relaxed, as it should be with wine, thanin any other wine district.

Last time I had a group here we, on the

same day, did both a township tour in Zwe-lihle and a wine tour in Hemel- en-Aarde.It works because of the similar high qualityin the way it is presented.

Hermanus is small and easy to find yourway in and get to know. That contributes toa feeling of belonging that makes people will-ing to come back again and again.

In this regard, the markets can be men-tioned. In the market by the red sheds, thecraft market by Fisherman’s Cottage as wellas at the Saturday farmers market by thecricket club, tourists can find everythingthey wish for of “itemised memories”, as Iprefer to call souvenirs, to bring back home.Compared to other markets in bigger places, you come to know the traders. I often chata minute or two with mama Linda Chigamaon the corner, Gizelle at the craft market orsome of the other guys making a living onthe market in that small town. It’s a laidback, easy way of creating contacts abovethe business that might be a part of it.

The markets, in different ways, also showa bit of the cultural diversity that Hermanuscan boast about.

Cultural diversity is what is expected bytourists going to the modern democraticSouth Africa.

This history is very important to Scandi-navian tourists and they are happy to seeevidence of this change.

Hermanus can learn from Cape Town andGreen Market square where different musicand dance have become a part of the “show”making it attractive to tourists to be there, not only for shopping.

This is some of what I think tourists, espe-cially Scandinavians, like about your Her-manus. It is definitely what I like. Or Love.Yes, that is a better word. Thank you, Herma-nus, dear friends and other Hermanites!

DENNIS EKBOM,A PART TIME HERMANITE FOR THE

PAST 5 YEARS.

Illegal cycling in the HemelenAarde ValleyTherearetensofkilometresofcarefullylaidout and meticulously sign-boarded cyclepaths in the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley.

These paths are mainly on private landand cyclists may cycle at will where andwhen they wish on the cycle paths, provid-ing they display a permit obtained from Eu-odia Cycles at the Hemel en Aarde Village.

The majority of cyclists dutifully displaytheir permits and ride on the designatedpaths. Some individuals, however, defiant-ly ride with no permit.

Some cyclists too, ride on private land (in-cluding the Fernkloof Nature Reserve)where there is no designated cycle path and

landowners are getting angry about this. This could result in closure of certain cy-

cle paths to the public. What a loss for allthe law-abidingpeople justwantingtoenjoya beautiful ride. On sending a photographof a trespassing cyclist to Euodia cycles, theresponse of Mr Jan van Schalkwyk of Euo-dia cycles was, “cyclists like this are ruin-ing it for everyone”.

Illegal cyclists could not only face acharge of trespassing, but also face beingbanned from all future organised cyclingevents.

Please cyclists, just adhere to the rules!DJ MARAIS

Sandbaai Neighbourhood Watch to therescueOn behalf of the Community Police Fo-rum under which all NeighbourhoodWatches fall, I would like to thank Col.Moody for publicly thanking the Sand-baai Neighbourhood Watch for its assist-ance to him.

It is indeed a rare occurrence to bethanked, despite the fact that a smallgroup of volunteers patrol the streets ofSandbaai, for the past eighteen years, nearly every night of the year.

They are also on radio call out duringthe day and have an emergency numberwhich is manned 24 hours a day, in con-tact by radio to all members for reaction.

These few dedicated men and womenkeep Sandbaai citizens safe, expectingnothing in return.

The effectiveness of the SandbaaiNHW is evidenced in the fact that Sand-baai has a lower incidence of housebreak-ins than a lot of their neighbour-ing suburbs, despite the vulnerability ofits position.

The NHW desperately need more peo-ple to help with patrols.

If you want to volunteer your services, please phone either our emergency num-ber 083 962 8462 or the Chairman NicoHechter on 083 446 8765. He will be de-lighted to have you on board.

An invitation was recently extended tothe Sandbaai Ratepayers Associationcommittee members to join the NHW.

Tenders unfair to tradersI have been shocked and dismayed at the ‘plot-ting’ behind closed doors to cancel the leasesof all the market traders.

Our country is in a sad, broken state, so whyreduceameaningfulsegmentof thecommuni-ty doing honest and daily work in rain andfair weather for the enhancement of the wholecommunity through tourism?

Traders are in fixed structures on munici-pal land and thus the municipality are themanagingagentsof suchstructuresbuiltwiththe peoples’ money.

The suggestion that a tender process mustbe applied to each individual trader for theright to trade in an over-priced 3x3 spacemakes no sense.

Can one imagine every business having tofollow such a tender process from their land-lordsuponrenewal.Existingbusinessesmustthen make way for another business for noapparent reason other than someone else de-sires the space. What logic is this? One cannever grow a business or sell it on.

One is reminded of De Mond Caravan Park– which now stands neglected, while develop-ers are being sought over two years on.

Does the same fate await the MarketSquare?

Animalsalsohave rightsdearneighbourWhereas Hermanus generally qualifies as areasonably animal-friendly town, there areunfortunately a number of fringe elementswith a total disregard for animal rights. They are vehemently intolerant of any do-

mestic animal that they perceive to ever soslightly invade theirhallowedprivate space.Their wrath is primarily directed at dogs,

which from time-to-time bark at other dogsaccompanying their owners past what theyperceive to be their territory. They are so obsessed with what they re-

gard as their rights that even the slightestincident of barking cause them to react ina highly irrational manner.Despite being very vocal about their dis-

content, they generally do not confront theowners of animals that aggrieve them, choosing to rather vent their anger on thirdparties.Without making any attempt to approach

the owners to negotiate a mutually accepta-ble solution, they immediately resort to peti-tioning punitive interventions by the localauthority and law enforcement agencies intheir effort to compel dog owners to changethe behaviour of their domestic animals.By alleging that the domestic animals in

question are causing an ‘unreasonable dis-turbance’, are held accountable by virtue ofhand-deliveredwarnings of a spot fine beingimposed or a summons served if the per-ceived disturbance continues.Interestingly, the by-laws do not define

‘unreasonable disturbance’ or provide ob-jective standards according to which thebarking, whimpering or howling of a dog is

to be adjudged an ‘unreasonable disturb-ance’.This aforesaid begs the question whether

responsible dog owners should simply sitback and willingly accept being victimisedby a small group of complainers?Has the time not come for a better balance

to be sought between human and animalrights, and for by-laws taking cognizance ofthe fact that animals also have a right to life,to physical health, and to a degree of controlover their environment and the companythey keep?Sadly, a neighbour has for many months

waged a standoff emotional war to makeknown his discontent at what he deems tobe the ‘unreasonable disturbance’ caused bymy two toy poodles – instead of walkingacross the street to discuss his discontent. No other resident in our proximity has evereven intimated that thepoodles in constitutean ‘unreasonable disturbance’.The time has come for animal lovers to

stand together against those who wish tosee this beautiful town remodelled accord-ing to their selfish needs. For too long thosewith little regard forani-

mal rights have ‘bullied’ animal owners, causing them to either sacrifice a very im-portant part of their life, or to confine theiranimals to house arrest.Animal lovers should forthwith stand tall,

and also ensure that the by-laws of our townare revised to take due account of the rightsof animals.

With regard to the municipal council not re-newing the lease agreements to the existingstall owners has not met with a favourablelight. These stalls are not only an attractiontooverseasvisitorsbutalsotoourlocal travel-lers as well.As a GM of a 5 star B&B our guests love the

unique stalls with something for all walks oflife.Besides the fact that they fought formanyyears for the new shops to be built (battling

inmake shift tents, in all weather conditions)they are now told after five years the leasewill not be renewed and are up for tender. You are looking at the livelihoods of all con-

cerned. I actually think this is a shocker forexisting dwellers. Why can’t new shops be built at Lem’s cor-

ner insteadof throwingout theexisting stalls.I really don’t think it’s a good call.

)Themarket is a happy friendly interesting tourist destination. Don’t mess with what works.– MOIRA WALKER) Love the market in Hermanus. One of the reasons we visit. Disturbed to read that those whohave worked so hard over many years to buildup viable stalls at market, which draw tourists, may forfeit all and loose livelihood due to newtender process.– MIKE WALKER) How devastating for the market shops. Onecan only remember how they started the marketinmakeshift shelters, through rain and heat, onlyto now be told that contracts won’t be renewed. This is their livelihood.
