Ebu Hamid Muhammed el-Gazali, İslam Düşüncesinde hemen hemen bütün bilim dallarında eserleri olan klasik bir alimdir. Fıkıh, Usul-u Fıkıh, Kelam, Felsefe, Tasavvuf ve Tefsir gibi bir çok alanda eserler yazmış olup üzerinde çalışılmayı hak eden bir şahsiyettir. Bu yüzden de gerek ülkemizde, gerek arap ülkelerinde gerekse batı dünyasında hem çalışmaları, hem hayatı, hem de fikirleri üzerinde makale, eser ve tez seviyesinde bir çok çalışma yapılmıştır.
