Project management and construction management each have different emphasis depending on the stage of the project. The project manager is engaged from project initiation and remains involved throughout the entire delivery process. The role of the construction manager is determined during the planning stage based on the complexity, timing and goals of the project. Over the project life cycle, the level of risk managed by the project manager diminishes while the level of risk managed by the construction manager increases.
