DIGITAL DISTRIBUTING FRAME (DDF)INSTALLATION PROCEDURES FOR

2-INCH (50 mm) PANELS

General

The Digital Distributing Frame (DDF) 2-inch (50 mm) panels are designed to mount in either 23-inch (584 mm)or 19-inch (482 mm) frames. Panels are equipped with dual monitor DDF modules. Panels for 23-inch (584

mm) frames contain ten DDF modules mounted horizontally in five rows of two modules. Panels for 19-inch(482 mm) frames contain eight DDF modules mounted horizontally in four rows of two modules.

INSTALLING AND REMOVING THE DDF MODULE

Installing the DDF Module in the 2-Inch (50 mm) Panel :

1. Position module at an angle to the panel so that the right side of the module is close to the tab molded into

the panel (see Figure 1).2. With bottom of module on tab, swing module up until it contacts panel and continue to push until it locks in

place.

Removing the DDF Module From t he 2-Inch (50 mm) Panel:

1. Use a flat screwdriver or other blunt tool to press the latch at the top of the module (see Figure 2).

2. Swing module down and lift out of panel.

INSTALLING A 2-INCH (50 mm) PANEL IN A BAY FRAME

A typical 2-inch (50 mm) front cross-connect panel installation is shown in Figure 3. Install the panel using fourNo. 12-24 by 3/8-inch screws.

Installing a 2-Inch Rear Cross-Connect Panel in 19-Inch and 23-Inch Bay Frames

A typical 2-inch (50 mm) rear cross-connect panel installation in a 19-inch frame is shown in Figure 4 on page4, and Figure 5 on page 4 shows the same panel being installed in a 23-inch frame with adapter brackets.
