A temperature deviation in the room results in a shift of the duct controller setpoint. The size of the shift is determined by the cascade factor CF. The cascade factor is defined as the shift of the duct controller setpoint that is set at a room temperature deviation of 1°C. The duct temperature can, when running cascade control, be both maximum- and minimum- limited. Room and duct temperature controllers can individually be set for P- or PI-control. section position 2-240

Operation

SetpointThe AQUA24A3/D can be used with the built-in setpointknob or,optionally, with an external setting device. Thesetpoint controls the temperature at the main sensor.

Setpoint ControlThe setpoint can be shifted from the preset value byapplying an external control voltage to the SPC-input(Setpoint Control). The setpoint can be shifted -15K to +15Kfrom the set value by applying 0 - 10 V DC to the SPC input. No shift at 5 V DC. If the input is left open it is internally heldat zero shift.

Damper limitingBy using a TBI-100 potentiometer it is possible to maximumor minimum limit the output signal to a damper actuator.

The AQUA24A3/D is a PI controller but can also be set torun as a P controller. It has three sequential outputs for twostages heating and one stage cooling (0-10 V DC).The neutral zone between heating and cooling is adjustable.Output Y1 and Y2 will increase on increasing heat demandand output Y3 will increase on increasing cooling demand.

Main sensorFor supply air temperature control or room temperaturecontrol. The controller can be set for P- or PI-control.

Limiting sensor, cascade controlWhen running room temperature control the controller maybe wired as a cascade controller with the main sensor in theroom and a limiting sensor in the incoming air duct.A temperature deviation in the room results in a shift of theduct controller setpoint. The size of the shift is determinedby the cascade factor CF. The cascade factor is defined asthe shift of the duct controller setpoint that is set at a roomtemperature deviation of 1°C.The duct temperature can, when running cascade control, beboth maximum- and minimum- limited.Room and duct temperature controllers can individually beset for P- or PI-control.

that the start position is determined solely by the Pdeviation at the time of starting. When the sensortemperature equals the setpoint value, the startingpoint is centered between Y1 and Y2.

See Section 6-100 for choice of sensor. Limit sensor must be 0...60°C.Setpoint control (SPC) The setpoint can be shifted -/+ 15K with a control voltage of 0-10V. 5 V produces no shift.Setpoint input The setpoint can be set with an external setpoint potentiometer.Shutdown signal The fan supervision signal controls the switching between running and shutdown mode.

The contact should be closed when the fan is running.OutputsControl signals Y1, Y2 (heating), Y3 (cooling). 0 - 10 V DC, max 1 mA. Short-circuit protected.
