Car affcianados gathered to present the “Cuz V” trophy, designed by Beno Coleman, to a most surprised Mike Lazaro, Co- founder and producer of Rods & Roses. Pictured are Mark Alfano, Chief of Staff Armand-Hammer Foundation; Mike Lazaro, Michael Hammer, Sponsor; and Mary Michaels Mark Alfano noted that “this is the “1st ‘Cuz V’ trophy in memory of Vinnie Mandzak. It is for someone who is always behind the scenes and does things never to be honored but because they have a good heart and care like Vinnie did who also helped with the Montecito Motor Classic besides Rod & Roses was a definitely known Car Guy. He was family to Michael Hammer and Mark Alfano and the Armand Hammer Foundation. He passed away June 18, 2015.”

At Carpinteria’s 18th Annual Rods and Roses, A.C. Moore presented the “Mr. Indy 500” trophy in honor of 2015 Honorary Grand Marshal Andy Granatelli, to Dana Williamson, Collection Manager of The Petersen Museum. The award, a one-of-a-kind handmade trophy by Beno Coleman, was for their entry of a specially designed 1933 Ford Roadster “Double Dozen.” Co-presenter Cecil Kyte explained the intriguing moveable and useful parts of the trophy.

After the Historic Marriage Equality Ruling, this year’s Pacific Pride Festival has much to celebrate. Thousands of people are expected to attend the Pride Festival at De La Guerra Plaza in downtown Santa Barbara. Belinda Carlisle, lead singer of The Go-Go’s, will be this year’s headliner for the Pacific Pride Festival. Come out and celebrate on July 11th from 12-7pm.
