A) The Research Proposal
Suggested length: 10-15 pages.
This proposal should be based on a problem you might be interested in studying. It should
include a short introduction summarizing the area of concern with a brief review of literature,
research context/theoretical framework, research questions, significance, research methodscovering sample, data collection and analysis, and validity issues. A pilot study is strongly
encouraged to be conducted.
B) In class Presentation
Each student finds a qualitative research article as assigned by the instructor. Review the
article, and present it to class concentrating on the research design/method/analysis used by
the author.
