Past Tense Simple

a) Definitie:Exprima o actiune trecuta si terminata care nu are legatura sau efect in

momentul prezent.

b) Forma:Din punct de vedere al formarii acestui timp, verbele se impart in liba engleza, in doua categorii:▪ Verbe regulate care formeaza Past Tense-ul prin adaugarea terminatiei “-ed” la infinitivul scurt al verbului (to work-worked);▪ Verbe neregulate care au o forma specifica de Past Tense ce se gaseste in lista verbelor neregulate pe a doua coloana.

c) Conjugare:Timpul Past Tense Simple formeaza interogativul si negativul cu ajutorul auxiliarului “TO DO” conjugat la Past Tense.

terminata care nu are legatura cu momentul prezent si a carei desfasurare nu este precizata.

Adverbe specifice:▪ Yesterday - We went to a movie yesterday.▪ Last + (week, mounth) - We visited an intersting museum last week.

2. Past Tense Simple se foloseste pentru a exprima actiuni repetate, actiuni care faceau parte dintr-o obisnuinta trecuta.

3. Past Tense Simple se foloseste ca timp al povestirii in pasajele narative.

a) Definitie:Past Tense Continuous se foloseste pentru a exprima o actiune trecuta si terminata care nu are legatura sau efect in prezent si ale carei limite de desfasurare sunt precis stabilite.

2. Past Tense Continuous se foloseste pentru a exprima o actiune in desfasurare, actiune cu caracter durativ, intrerupta sau nu de o actiune cu caracter non-durativ (when).I was doing my homework when my mother come into the room.

3. Past Tense Continuous se foloseste pentru a exprima doua actiuni trecute, aflate in desfasurare simultan (while).

I was doing my homework while my sister was playing.

4. Past Tense Continuous se foloseste ca timp al povestirii in pasajele descriptive.
