    PESAA PHILOSOPHY

    The essential spring of all growth is within you. All that you can get from without is

    some food material or spiritual, with which to built your own organism and Some Stimulus to

    spur you to activity. What is really essential in your development, you must do for yourself.

    To provide such stimulus to the potential engineer's personality PESAA was

    formed on 8 August 1986. Above philosophy have become guideposts to what we do and

    what we seek to become.

    The special position the association has come to occupy in the COETA as well as the

    unique features it has developed in the recent years has resulted from the unwavering

    commitments of PESAA.

    PESAA believes in producing leaders and organisation builders. More specifically, it

    endeavors.

    1. To help the students become effective leaders of people who can achieve results

    beyond expectations.

    2. To facilitate creative thinking, so that students come out with innovative answers,

    create alternative solutions and develop technical skills.

    3. To develop professional competence in the future managers

    4. To help them face international competitions.

    CONSTITUTION OF PESAA

    1) NAME OF ASSCIATION : - The Association will be called as Production

    Engineering Student's Academic Association Akola.

    2) AREA OF OPERATION : - College of Engineering and Technology, Akola.

    3) REGISTERED OFFICE : Office of the association will function at College of

    Engineering and Technology, Akola.

    4) AIMS AND OBJECTIVES :- (a) To inform various companies about exclusive

    characteristics and features of our course via

    correspondence. The help of knowledgeable and

    experienced persons like the H.O.D's and the Professors will

    be sought in this matter.

    (b) Arranging and organizing visits to industrial complexes

    and plants in the near by places in the vicinity of the

    colleges where members of PESAA would exist.

    (c) Exchange and exhibition of technical films.

    (d) Organizing of seminar and discussions by eminent

    staff and the students at most suitable venues.

    (e) Publication of Magazine. A forum at the

    Maharashtra level to air their thoughts and knowledge willgo a long way towards the benefit of all the students by

    communication and correspondence to various technical

    firms.

    (f) Represent the panel to solve any problem, which is

    needed to be solved collectively.

    (g) To establish a communication link within the

    students of production Engineering spread all over India.

    (h) Conducting the projects for final year students in

    collaboration with various industries and arranging

    technical seminars of eminent experts from different

    fields.

    (i) Exhibition of outstanding projects performed by students

    of various college and different related technical firms.

    (j) Keeping the students update with latest technical

    developments.

    (k) Conduction of group discussion, debate, elocution,

    speech quiz competitions, technical picture presentation.

    (l) Giving exposure to the students' creativity by presenting

    technical cartoons, papers, literature papers, poems, and

    technical design, by means of wall magazine.

    (m) For conservation and motivation of student's interest,

    prizes to excellent and participating students, which are

    given in Annual Gathering function.

    5) MEMBERS OF ASSOCIATION: -All the Students of Production Engineering;

    College of Engineering and Technology, Akola are eligible

    to hold the membership of the Association.

    6) MEMBERSHIP FEE :Every member who are eligible to hold the membership of

    the Association will be required to pay the life membership

    fees of Rs. 100/-.

    7) EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE: -The Association will be administered by an Executive

    Committee of 10 Members.

    8) FORMATION OF EXECUTIVE COMMITTE:-

    8 (a) Head of the department of the production Engineering

    to the executive Committee of production Engineering.

    8 (b) One staff member will be nominated by staff of the

    Department of Production Engineering to the Executive

    Committee of Production Engineering. 8(c) Four class

    representative of production Engineering Branch elected to

    the students representative Council of the College of

    Engineering and Technology shall be the members of

    executive Committee in case they are members of the

    Organisation.

    of the Organisation. 4th Year student members of

    Association to the Executive committee.

    9) OFFICE BEARERS OF THE ASSOCIATION: -

    The Association will be administered by the following

    office Bearers.

    9 (a) President

    9 (b) Working President,

    9 (c) General Secretary,

    9 (d) Treasurer

    9 (e) Secretary of Book Bank.

    9 (f) Secretary of Industrial Visits.

    9 (g) Magazine Secretary.

    10) SCHEME OF THE OFFICE BEARERS: -

    10(1) The Head of the department of the Production

    engineering department of college of Engineering

    and Technology, will assume the charge of the president.

    10(2) The Other staff members elected to the Executive

    Committee will assume the charge of the working

    president.

    10(3) General Secretary shall be from the Final Year B.E.

    Production Engineering.

    10(4) Treasurer shall be from the 3rd year B.E. Production.

    10(5) Book Bank Secretary shall be from the 2nd year B.E.

    Production Engineering.

    10(6) from each class of Production Engineering two

    representatives will be taken. One will be class

    representative and other will be the top marks scorer of the

    concerned class.

    11) PERIOD OF FUNCTTION: - The executive Committee will function for a period

    of One year and the Executive Committee shall be

    reconstituted Every year, by the end of 31st August.

    12) FUNDS OF THE ASSOCIATION:- 12 (1) Rs. 100/- from the students member of the

    Association.

    12 (2) By way of a collection of advertisement for the

    magazine to be published by the Association.

    12 (3) by providing stationary to the students.

    12 (4) By way of taking deposit of 20 % of cost of books

    issued for a semester through book bank.

    13) POWERS TO EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE: - 13(1) To administer the activities of

    association.

    13(2) To take the effective steps towards the fulfillment of

    the Aims and Objectives of Association. 13(3) To develop

    direct links with the industries to have latest technology

    available for the student members.

    13(4) To amend the constitution according to requirement,

    with 2/3rd of the majority of the members.

    14) ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING : An Annual General Meeting shall be called in the

    month of September and at the end of the year inviting all

    the members of association.

    15) NOTICE OF ANMUAL GENERAL MEETING: - A notice to hold Annual General

    Meeting shall be displayed on the notice board at least 7

    days in advance.

    16) EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE: Executive Committee shall meet at least once in a three

    months to review the performance and achievements and

    forthcoming targets of the Association by a notice at least

    3 days in advance.

    ACTIVITIES PERFORMED UNDER THE BANNER OF PESAA IN THE YR. 2003-04 WERE.

    1) It is decided that the books will be issued at 8% (previously it was 15 % for complete

    academic year. Also the number of copies to be issued to each student is increased

    from 3 to 5.

    2) Due to increase in number of books it is decided that a new furniture will be

    purchased. Follow-up in this matter will be done by stock in charge committee.

    3) The stationary worth of Rs. 3780/- was purchased by Mr. Rajesh Borakhade. It

    includes practical pages, files, drawing sheets, index, graph papers and certificates.

    The distribution of this material will be done by Mr. Harish Sharma for final year, Mr.

    Rajesh Borakhade for third year, Mr. P.B. Rathod.

    4) Stock verification of library was carried out by book bank Incharge Committee.

    5) 100 copies of letterheads containing names of executive body and PESAA logo was

    printed by stocking Incharge Committee.

    6) Expert talk on topic entrepreneurship development was delivered by Professor J. H.

    Vyas of department of textile engineering.

    7) Debet competition was arranged on topic "Should Vidarbha be a separate region from

    rest of Maharashtra? By PESAA. The winner of debet competition was Mr. Ramakant

    Choudhari was 1st Year.

    8) Expert talk on topic "Productivity Improvement" was delivered by Prof. C.V.

    Deshmukh, H.O.D. Production Department.

    9) Expert talk on topic modern drives and control was delivered by Prof. S.N. Naikwad

    H.O.D. Electric Engineering Department.

    10) Teachers day was celebrated on 5th of September 2004

    11) Industrial visit to " Hindustan Lever L.T.D. M.I.D.C. Khamgaon was arranged for 7th

    semester students. Special efforts were made by Mr. Nilesh Diware (G.S. PESAA) and

    Mr. Anand Agrawal. Prof. S.K. Patil & Prof. D.V. Shirbhate accompanied the students

    in this visit.

    ACTIVITIES PERFORMED UNDER THE BANNER OF PESAA IN THE YEAR

    2004-05 WERE.

    1. The responsibility of distribution of book to first, second, third and final year student

    was assigned to Mr. Ansul Mittal (Final Year Production). The decision to assign

    responsibility to a single person was taken to maintain the accountability and smooth

    distribution of books.

    2. A loan of Rs.40,000/- was taken on fixed deposit of PESAA which is approximately

    Rs.75,000/- from salary earners co-operative society. The loan was utilized roughly as

    Rs.4, 500/- on purchase of chairs from M/s Namita Sales, near tower, Akola.

    Approximately Rs.13,000/- was utilized for fabrication of furniture. The fabrication

    of furniture was carried out by Shri. Rajurkar (Carpenter) under the supervision of

    Prof. C. V. Deshmukh (President PESAA) and Prof. D. V. Shirbhate (working

    President PESAA).

    3. Approximately Rs.1, 000/- was utilized for polishing work of wooden furniture by

    Shri. Rajurkar in the month of November 2004.

    4. The book of Machine Design by M. Passi was purchased by Prof. D. V. Shirbhate

    from Pune and deposited in PESAA of Library as per the demand of fifth semester

    students.

    5. On 7/8/2004 Prof. S. K. Patil delivered his expert talk on topic time management. The

    Expert talk was conducted in Room No. 301 between 2 P.M. to 4 P.M. Prof. S.K.Patil

    discussed various factors which contributes towards wastage of time. He also

    discussed various techniques of time management. Students were highly benefit by

    this expert talk.

    6. Prof. S.K. Patil deliverd his expert talks on "New Trends In Cotton Conveying

    Technology In Modern Ginning". He also shared his experiences in this field.

    7. On 14/8/2004 PESAA conducted Expert talk of two important personalities.

    Dr.Sanjay Bhoyar Asstt. Prof. Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth, Akola

    (Incharge of APDRC) and Prof. S.B. Thakare from Civil Engineering Department

    delivered their expert talk. The topics were as follows

    a. "Technology Development in Agro Produce ": - By Dr.Sanjay Bhoyar

    i. "Low cost water conservation": - By Prof. S.B.Thakare.

    8. Since there is an acute problem of water supply this year, and additional tube well was

    dugged out of contribution of staff and students. As per the specific appeal made by

    principal Dr. A.B.Marathe to contribute Rs.2, 000/- for this purpose. Therefore, an

    amount of Rs. 2,000/- was transferred from PESAA account to College account for

    this purpose.

    9. Prof. D.V.Shirbhate delivered his expert talk on PRO/E-A parametric modeling

    package.

    10. Demonstration of project work carried out by Prof. D.V. Shirbhate's Batch, titled

    "EDUCATIONAL MULTIMEDIA ON HYDRAULICS AND PNEUMATICS"was given

    by Prof. S.K. Patil to the students of "MECHATRONICS" and "LOW COST

    AUTOMATION"of 7th semester.

    11. Teacher's day was celebrated on 5th of September 2004. Special efforts were taken by

    Mr. Harish Chede (G.S. PESAA) and Mr. Santosh Kumar tiwari. Final year students

    gave a memento of photograph of Shivaji Maharaj to the department on this occasion

    12. "Traditional dress competition " was held on 5th September. All the final year students

    actively participated in this completion.

    13. Industrial visit to " Hindustan Lever L.T.D. M.I.D.C. Khamgaon was arranged for 7th

    semester students. Special efforts were made by Mr. Harish Chede (G.S. PESAA) and

    Miss. Minal Kamani . Prof. S.K. Patil & Prof. D.V. Shirbhate accompanied the

    students in this visit.

    14. New books enriched Book Bank of PESAA.

    15. As per the desire of Prof. C.V. Deshmukh (H.O.D. Production) subscription of weekly

    "Employment News" is started in PESAA library this year.

    FUTURE PLANS:

    1) In the last week of December specials Prof. D.V. Shirbhate will conduct coaching

    classes on Pro/e. The timings and fee structure will be finalized after the discussion

    with the students and principal.

    2) Prof. D.V. Shirbhate's project batch already developed the department web site, which

    was uploaded on www.coeta-production.tripod.com, which was a free server. But

    with the change in company's policy now the web site does not exists on this server.

    The web pages also need to be updated. PESAA is planning to update the site and load

    it on college web server.

    3) To develop LAN network in CAD/CAM lab and provide connectivity to all computers

    for the production engineering students.

    4) To enrich the PESAA library with new books particularly with newly introduced

    subjects like MECHATRONICS, LOW COST AUTOMATION, CAD/CAM etc.

    5) To make computerized reference copies of practical records of some of the important

    subjects.

    6) To distribute course material of various production engineering subjects from PESAA.

    7) To enrich the PESAA library with competitive examination material like GATE etc.

    8) To include more educational CD's in PESAA library.

    9) To publish a book called "SMARAN 2005" containing names, addresses E-mail and

    telephone numbers of all students and staff members.

    After establishing ourselves in the field of personality development, now our main aim is to

    refine PESAA day by day and keep up our unending quest for excellence in the field, alive.

    That is the reason we are going to include many new programmes in our priority list they

    mainly include :

    More campus interviews from limited and multinational companies.

    We should like to end this article, we would like to thank all our Professors and Students for

    their invaluable time, they have rendered us at the hour of need.
