• Number of public transport passenger journeys per year in the EU: 60 billions (=60.000.000.000)

• Number of direct public transport jobs (=operators) in the EU: 1.2 millions

• Contribution of public transport to the EU economy (per year): 130 to 150 billion EUR (that is 1 to 1.2%) of the EU GDP. *

Multimodal, integrated and seamless PT is necessary to develop sustainable urban transport systems

Infrastructure needs to be carefully planned and prioritised to optimise transport chains and the overall transport network

Long-term management, maintenance, upgrading and repair of both vehicles and infrastructure.

Raise the awareness of and the commitment to PT
