Amidst globalization and technological changes,
how are we dealing with the cultural heritage? Did
we choose to fow with the changes and leave
behind us the past things in our lie? These are thequestions that challenge us to answer. And ater
watching the video o the International onerence
on ultural !eritage "reservation, I believe that
some people have chosen to fow with globalization
and technological changes, and brought with them
their cultural heritage.
#o$o %arnic, one o the members o &'(!I
pro)ect, e*pressed the importance o scienti+c
results regarding $nowledge on cultural heritage
monitoring, protection, diagnostics, and protection.
ithout the proper $nowledge, it would be hard togo on with the ne*t step such as the design and
planning. !e also stated that the organization
needs to develop an integrated s-stem to support
policies that are compatible. hich lead him and
his members to organize and ma$e the &'(!I
pro)ect. The pro)ect provides inormation andguidelines about the cultural heritage, and or
uture development.

ne o the relevant achievement o &'(!I
pro)ect is the inormation and $nowledge shared
among the di/erent e*perts. The pro)ect allows
researchers, managers, engineers, socialists, andarchitects to share ideas on the cultural heritage. It
also generates a common polic- to a countr-.
onservation covers all the aspect o lie. 0o, the
&'(!I pro)ect is a ver- useul s-stem or #and
&ppich in his line o wor$. !e is an architect, and
his )ob requires him to wor$ with the historicalbac$ground and record o a site and structure,
policies connected to the construction and much
more. ith the use o the s-stem, it is now eas- to
+nd inormation rom di/erent e*perts o the world.
The pro)ect has three end users. The people whowor$ on cultural heritage conservation such as
architects, engineers and site managers, the
people who wor$ or academic purposes are the
researchers and the government implements and
leads the wor$. learl-, the pro)ect has helped
&urope in preserving their cultural heritage. Thee*perts in their area have used technolog- in a
good wa- to preserve the cultural heritage and to
provide sustainabilit- in ever- structure.
Technolog- has made a wa- to provide eas- access

to inormation, and the answer to the conservation
o cultural heritage is in+nite with the use o
technolog-.
The &'(!I pro)ect is a simple pro)ect that was
made b- di/erent e*perts. The- have wor$ed on
+nding the needs o a communit-, their identit-.
1onica 2adzins$a said that in the time o
globalization and technological changes, the
people need to support their own identit- and
values. Also, their tourism sector bene+ts and
generates more than 344 billion &uros because o
the cultural heritage, and that is one o the reasons
wh- the- give value to their cultural heritage.
Technolog- has pla-ed a big role in preserving the
cultural heritage o the di/erent parts o the world.
Technolog- has been providing people with
countless o inormation on the internet li$e
scholarl- published wor$. It can provide people
eas- access to inormation. Technolog- can also
connect us with di/erent e*perts in the world to
as$ advice and to e*pand the range o $nowledge
that we ma- have. Technolog- also gives plent- o
opportunities to wor$ on things that are be-ond our

strength. ranes are the best e*ample o the things
that wor$ be-ond our capabilities.
In the conte*t o the "hilippine 5ational ultural
!eritage onservation and "reservation, I see no
reason wh- we cannot produce something that
would help in the conservation and preservation o
our cultural heritage. The problem in the
"hilippines is the urge to attain the goals and to
implement the conservation o cultural heritage.
The 5ational ultural !eritage Act o the
"hilippines has been preserving man- cultural
artiacts, paintings, monuments and structures or
as long as I can remember. 6ut there are still
heritage buildings that need assistance rom the
government. 1an- heritage structures are beingdemolished b- the government while some are not
properl- maintained and protected. The !eritage
Act is not implemented well because we don7t
realize the importance o technolog- and the
people. It could also be the governments7 ault
because the- ailed to ma$e a more realistic andachievable goal.

The government and institutions could use the help
o its communit- b- giving awareness to the
current situation o the cultural heritage in the
"hilippines. &ven a student can ormulate wa-s onhow to preserve and conserve i the student has
enough inormation about the pro)ect. 0tudents
can also choose di/erent +elds o stud- such as a
ps-chological stud- o the environment, anal-sis o
the design o the structure based on aesthetics and
unction and much more. The- must be guidedrespectivel- with a proessional to strengthen their
ideas. 1ost importantl-, the use o technolog- can
help them lessen the cost o the pro)ect and
prevent the ris$ o damage.
The approach to cultural heritage conservationmust be multidisciplinar- so as to produce a better
output. Di/erent sectors must give importance in
preserving heritage sites as it gives income to the
communit- and gives importance to social values.
