Caution:Dangerous voltages are accessible when the test ox is plugged into the mains.

    Test Procedure

    Section A - Set Up

    1. Ensure the test box is wired correctly to the PCB under test by following the markings on each cable.2. Ensure the mains plug is not plugged in.3. Short out capacitor C3 on the PCB.4. Wind VR3 fully anti clock wise until it clicks. Then wind it 2 turns clock wise. This should give

approximately 3 seconds delay before shaking and before clamp up.5. Wind VR4 fully anti clock wise until it clicks. Then wind it 1 turns clock wise. This should give

approximately 1 seconds delay before between clamp down and shaking.

    6. Wind VR5 fully anti clock wise until it clicks. Then wind it 3 turns clock wise. This should giveapproximately 5 seconds of clamp rising.

    7. Set VR2 to approximately 11 O' Clock.8. Disconnect the Timer Selector Switch by setting the Switch A to OFF.9. Connect an ohmmeter between terminals 1 and 2.10. Set the rotary switch to 30 seconds position and vary the VR6 until the ohmmeter reads 270K ohms.11. Set the rotary switch to 30 seconds position and vary the VR7 until the ohmmeter reads 360K ohms.12. Set the rotary switch to 30 seconds position and vary the VR8 until the ohmmeter reads 500K ohms.13. Set the rotary switch to 30 seconds position and vary the VR9 until the ohmmeter reads 700K ohms.14. Set the rotary switch to 30 seconds position and vary the VR10 until the ohmmeter reads 1000K

ohms.15. Set the rotary switch to 30 seconds position and vary the VR11 until the ohmmeter reads 1400K

    ohms.

Note: The settings of VR6 to VR 11 are approximate settings only and may require fine tuning inoperation.

    16. Disconnect the short across C3. Remove the ohmmeter and turn Switch A to On.

    Section B - Testing

    1. Ensure the test box is wired to the PCB under test as shown in the schematic.2. Ensure Switch A is ON , Switch B is OFF and Switch C is OFF.3. Ensure short across C3 has been removed.4. Apply mains voltage by plugging in text box.

    5. Move Switch C from OFF to position 1. Check that the Clamp Up Lamp lights.6. Move Switch C to off again. The Clamp Up lamp should switch OFF.7. Move Switch C to position 2 and then to OFF position. The Clamp Down lamp should come on.

    8. Move Switch B to ON. The Clamp Down lamp should turn OFF. After approximately 1 second the shaker lamp should turnON and stay ON for the approximate period of time set by the timer selector switch.

    9. After a further approximate 3 seconds, the Clamp Up lamp will come on and stay on for approximately 5 seconds.

Note: Ignore dim flickering of lights. This is due to leakage current through ON-BOARD snubbers.
