ZigBee is a Ad-hoc networking technology for LR-WPAN

Based On IEEE 802.15.4 standard that defines the PHYand Mac Layers for ZigBee.

    Intended for 2.45 Ghz , 868 Mhz and 915 Mhz Band.Data rates touch 250Kbps for 2.45Ghz ,40 Kbps915Mhz and 20Kbps for 868Mhz band.

Low in cost ,complexity & power consumption as

    compared to competing technologies.

    Focused on control andautomation.

Uses low data rate, lowpower consumption, and

    works with small packetdevices.

Support a larger numberof devices and a longerrange between devices

    Designed to respondquickly

Focused on connectivitybetween laptops, PDAs,and the like.

    Uses a higher data rate,

higher powerconsumption, and workswith large packetdevices.

    Connects small number

    of devices at a smallerrange.

    Takes much longer and

    could be detrimental tothe application
