GRAPES OF SUCCESS – THE BACKGROUNDIn 1947 the siblings Secondo and Luigi started cultivating wine in Italy in the Langhe region and founded the company Fratelli Martini Secondo Luigi SpA. The brothers named their wine Sant’Orsola inspired by a holy church dear to them. Today, the company is named Casa Sant’Orsola and has grown considerably. Fratelli Martini Secondo Luigi SpA employs 120 people and has a production capacity of 40,000 bottles per hour.

The success is owed to the family’s commitment, dedication and the preservation of the company’s original values. Constant investments in quality and wine research as well as innovation of production technology and facilities predict a bright future for this company.

• Fratelli Martini Secondo Luigi SpA is the biggest vinifying company in Piedmont: 250,000 quintals of grapes

harvested on more than 2,000 hectares of vineyards.

• Fratelli Martini Secondo Luigi SpA is: The second producer of ASTI D.O.C.G. and the first producer of GAVI di GAVI

D.O.C.G.

• Contracts with the main cooperative wineries in Veneto, Lazio, Puglia, Sicily and other important wine regions allow

for the production of D.O.C.G, doc and IGT wines. These wines are cultivated in an area equal to 4,000 hectares of

the vineyards.

CAPACITY AND STORAGEPressing:

• 4 centres* with 1,200-1,500 tons of grapes per day. Served by 12 pneumatic presses and 1 flotation equipment.

Vinifications:

• Productive capacity: 800,000 hl

• 5 cross flow filtration equipment

• 1 electrodialysis equipment for the stabilization

Bottling:

• Total production capacity of 40,000 bottles per hour. 3 lines of which 1 has a production capacity of 20,000 bottles

per hour for sparkling wine, the other 2 with a capacity

of 10,000 bottles each for wine per hour.

Storage:

• Capacity of 600,000 hl of which 250,000 in cold storage.

• For some brands (wines from other regions) Fratelli Martini Secondo Luigi SpA has collaborations with cooperative

cellars with long term contracts.

*An important production centre of Fratelli Martini Secondo Luigi SpA is in Gavi at the Cantina of Castel di Serra in

Gavi where the Gavi D.O.C.G. is vinified according to law vinification, which is requested in the area of production.
